Dear Centennial Students, Families and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am excited to introduce myself as your principal and to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. My name is Amanda Day, and I am honored to lead this incredible school community.

With eleven years of experience in the field of education here in the Higley Unified School District, I have had the privilege of serving in various roles including elementary teacher, gifted and talented specialist coach, dean of students and most recently, assistant principal. As a leader and educator, I strongly believe that through collaboration, high expectations, building positive relationships and establishing meaningful connections, student academic and social growth will flourish. I am an educator at heart and my decisions will always be driven by what is best for your child.

I believe that a strong partnership between the school and families is essential for the success and well-being of our students. Your involvement and support are instrumental, and I am committed to fostering an environment where open communication and collaboration are at the forefront. Together, we can ensure that our children receive the best possible education and thrive both academically and socially.

Please know that as parents and families, you play such an important role in your child’s educational journey whether it’s through volunteering, attending events and celebrations, or supporting Centennial’s initiatives. I am eager to work alongside you to support our students and create a nurturing and inclusive school community.

In addition to family support and involvement, our students are what makes Centennial such a wonderful place. Students, I am excited to meet each of you, celebrating you each day and seeing you grow and learn. 

As we embark on this academic journey together, I want to assure you that our dedicated team of educators and staff is committed to providing a supportive, engaging, and enriching environment for all students. We believe in fostering a culture of high Academic excellence, promoting positive Character, and continuing to embrace Traditions. Our students, staff, and community truly model the ACT 212 vision by going the extra degree in all that they do.

This school year will be filled with exciting learning opportunities, new friendships, and memorable experiences. Whether your child is just beginning their educational journey here at Centennial or is preparing for middle school, we are here to support and guide them every step of the way.
