Welcome to Media Technology!

As educators, students are at the center of everything we do. Our foremost goal is to prepare them for life-long learning, informed decision-making, a love of reading, and the use of information technologies.

Our physical space consists of the library and the computer lab. Technology Instruction is given by the Media Specialist who incorporates the ISTE standards aimed at 21st century learning for students. The lessons and projects help prepare students for the future by allowing them to become effective users of information technology.

Students are also given time to check out and read materials in the Media Center during their Special, as well as during open checkout times throughout the week.

Young Adult Permission Slips

Dear Parent and Guardians,

At Centennial Elementary School, which is a K-6 school, we have students of various ages, maturity, and reading levels. Therefore, our library contains a wide range of books to meet the varying needs of students. A select few of the books are labeled as Young Adult because they contain more mature content. These books are only available to students whose parents have signed a permission slip, providing their student the opportunity to read such titles.

Below is a permission slip allowing you to decide if the below book, from our Young Adult section, is appropriate for your child to read. Our library management system, Destiny, flags the Young Adult books during the checkout process and your child will only be able to checkout those books if a signed permission slip is on file.

If you wish to review the book, you can search the title on any internet search engine or visit the school’s website to review the book. The school’s website will have all available titles to view.

Please contact the Centennial Library with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Dan Brehony, Media Specialist
