Check out what awesome things our Cardinals are up to!
Centennial students collected pop tops for the Ronald McDonald House from January to March. Some families have been collecting pop tops all year just for this time. We have a class collecting competition and the students are very passionate about bringing in the most.
Centennial families partnered with the Town of Gilbert food drive to help Gilbert families in need and restock our food pantries.
Centennial students participated in a campus-wide culture celebration with acts of kindness that benefited students and families. Students wrote letters for children at the Ronald McDonald house, created a kindness chain to display in our front office, and participated in a bucket filler relay game to promote teamwork.
In the front office, we display a tree with items that are requested from Centennial families who are in need. The items range from students' wishes to family essentials. Our student council sold necklaces that students can wear during our jingle jog to raise money for families in need from our angel tree. Student council members also setup and ran the jingle jog event for Centennial students.
For the month of December, our ACT 212 board will be “Acts of Service.” Instead of featuring a person (like we have for each month prior), the Student Culture Committee decided to feature classes/students/students’ families from each grade level taking part in an act of service.
Centennial Fifth Graders made kindness bags filled with essential items for the less fortunate. Ric Borom, a local Gilbert police officer came to talk to the grade level about the power of the bystander in bullying situations while tying it into our ACT212 theme of ‘building a stronger community’ by helping others. in a time of need.
Our First Grade students wrote thank you letters to our Veterans and created a 3-D class mural.
Our Kindergarten students donated comfort items from home to soldiers overseas.
